Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia.
The 28-year-old is on the fringes of the Villans squad as they have evolved into a group capable of competing on the European stage.
Whilst Villa were pitting their wits against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last term, Buendia was spending time on loan at Bayer Leverkusen.
The Argentine struggled to make a significant impact at BayArena, scoring just twice across 14 competitive appearances for the German club.
Since making the switch to the Second City from Norwich City in June 2021, Buendia has made 100 appearances for Villa, netting the net on 10 occasions.

According to Football Insider, Aston Villa wantaway Buendia could be heading towards a move across Premier League battlelines.
The report states that the Villans are looking to offload the 28-year-old before the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
It is believed that Leeds possess a long-standing interest in Buendia, who could reunite with some familiar faces at Elland Road.
Unai Emery’s side are aiming to raise funds to alleviate Profit & Sustainability concerns, allowing them to retain the services of star players such as Morgan Rogers.
As well as Daniel Farke‘s men, it is believed that Bundesliga club Stuttgart are interested in signing Buendia before the September 1 deadline.
Farke-Buendia reunion on the cards?
Leeds head coach Farke is no stranger to Villa man Buendia, with the pair enjoying a successful spell together at Carrow Road.
The Argentine attacker won two Championship titles with the Canaries before transferring to the Second City four years ago.
After losing his way at Villa Park, Buendia and his career could be reignited in a fight for Premier League survival at Elland Road under the tutelage of Farke.
