Newcastle United have reportedly commenced talks with Aston Villa over the possible transfer of Jacob Ramsey.
The 24-year-old could be on the way out of the Second City club this summer, with Nottingham Forest also known to be keen on the player.
Ramsey featured in 29 Premier League matches for Unai Emery’s troops last term, finding the net once and providing three assists.
A graduate of the Villans’ academy system in 2019, the attacker has made a total of 169 first-team appearances, scoring 17 goals.
According to transfer specialist David Ornstein, Ramsey is moving towards a switch across Premier League battlelines this summer.
The report claims that Villa and Newcastle have entered talks over a possible transfer for the forward to St James’ Park in the coming weeks.
It is understood that West Ham United are also interested in Ramsey, who is supposedly favouring a move to the North-East giants at this stage.
Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is said to be a massive admirer of the 24-year-old, who has featured 16 times for England Under-21s as he chases down a senior call-up.
Villa are said to have submitted a number of contract offers to Ramsey, although the attacker is yet to agree to an extension of his terms in the West Midlands.
Muniz reveals Fulham departure desire?
Focusing on a player who could be leaving the Premier League this summer, Fulham star Rodrigo Muniz enjoyed a steady term in England last season.
The Brazilian forward battled Raul Jimenez for the central spot at the top end of the pitch for Marco Silva’s men, who missed out on European qualification.
The 24-year-old netted eight goals and bagged one assist across 31 Premier League matches for the Cottagers as they finished 11th overall.
As per journalist Rudy Galetti, Muniz has dropped a major admission ahead of the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.
The report states that the Brazilian has informed Fulham that he wants a move to Italian outfit Atalanta BC before the end of the trading point.
It is said that the pull of Champions League and Serie A football has proven a key factor in Muniz’s decision-making process.
The player and Atalanta supposedly have a loose agreement in place on personal terms, with the two clubs now set to hash out a deal in the region of £34.5m.
Villarreal ‘hold talks’ with PSG over Asensio deal
Finally, Marco Asensio is seemingly on the lookout for a new employer after returning to Paris Saint-Germain at the start of this summer.
The Spaniard spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Aston Villa, who ultimately failed to qualify for the Champions League.
A big fish in a small pond at Villa Park, Asensio provided a sprinkling of quality, scoring eight goals across 21 appearances for the Villans.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Asensio’s humbling stint in the Second City could have earned him a switch back to his homeland.
It is understood that La Liga outfit Villarreal are in talks with PSG over the potential temporary signing of the 38-time international.
With the player’s contract at Parc des Princes expiring next summer, Les Parisiens favour a permanent departure of Asensio at this stage.
The attacker’s loan deal with the Yellow Submarine could include an obligation or option to purchase in the region of £6.9m at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
