Man United have Ruben Amorim ‘fear’ after Burnley win as ‘alienation’ sparks major concern KIK BALL

Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim ‘fear’ is reportedly revealed following the Red Devils’ 3-2 victory over Burnley in the Premier League.

Manchester United‘s Ruben Amorim ‘fear’ has apparently been revealed following the Red Devils’ enthralling 3-2 win over Burnley in the Premier League.

The visit of the Clarets was billed as a make-or-break battle for the under-pressure Amorim, whose tenure as Man United boss hit a new low in their EFL Cup defeat to Grimsby Town.

Amorim was on the cusp of suffering another crushing result on Saturday afternoon, as his side led twice at Old Trafford against the newly-promoted side, only to be pegged back on both occasions.

However, captain Bruno Fernandes came up with a last-gasp penalty to propel his side to their first win of the season in any competition, while alleviating some of the growing pressure on his manager’s shoulders.

Rather than be sacked, Amorim had previously suggested that he could walk away from Old Trafford if he felt like he had reached his limit, although he has since cut a more level-headed figure in press conferences after emotions ran high at Grimsby.

Nevertheless, The Mirror claim that Red Devils chiefs are still ‘fearful’ at the prospect of Amorim resigning from his position, as they have no plans to give him the boot anytime soon.

A ‘steadfast’ Man United boardroom supposedly have no doubts about Amorim’s ability to turn the team’s fortunes around, but the concern that he could simply leave his post – without even seeking any compensation – has not gone away.

The former Sporting Lisbon boss allegedly does not enjoy a jovial relationship with all of his players, some of whom have become ‘disillusioned’ to his loyalty to the 3-4-3 system and are yearning for a change in formation.

Furthermore, Amorim has reportedly ‘alienated’ himself from some members of the camp due to his public criticism of his players, most notably claiming that he “sometimes” hated his team before going on to stress that he sometimes also “loved” them.

The Portuguese has overseen 18 wins, nine draws and 19 defeats from his 46 matches as Man United manager, and he remains under contract at the Theatre of Dreams until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

Who could replace Amorim as Man United head coach?

As the Red Devils board have stuck with Amorim through thick and thin so far, it would seemingly take a disaster for the Portuguese to be given the boot, if the club’s ‘fear’ does not come true and he voluntarily stays in his post.

However, it has been suggested that Man United are already eyeing two Premier League-based alternatives to Amorim, including Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner.

The Austrian has held off on extending his Eagles contract beyond the end of the season, having supposedly been left frustrated by the FA Cup winners’ transfer activity during the current window, and the board could burn more bridges with the head coach if they sell Marc Guehi to Liverpool.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola is also understood to be admired by Old Trafford chiefs, and he would have done his prospects of a possible move no harm at all in Saturday’s deserved 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
