Real Madrid transfer news: Los Blancos make Raul Asencio ‘decision’ amid Turkey interest KIK BALL

Real Madrid have reportedly ruled out a departure for central defender Raul Asencio amid interest from Turkey.

Real Madrid have reportedly ruled out a departure for central defender Raul Asencio, with head coach Xabi Alonso said to be keen to keep hold of the Spaniard for the 2025-26 campaign.

Asencio’s future has recently been the subject of speculation, with some major clubs in Turkey, including Besiktas, said to be interested in signing him before their transfer window closes.

The Turkish transfer window is open until September 12, giving clubs plenty of time to add more signings, and Besiktas are thought to be keen on loaning the Spaniard for the 2025-26 season.

Asencio made 46 appearances for Los Blancos last season, benefitting from the club’s defensive problems, but he is yet to earn a single minute of action during the current season.

Indeed, Dean Huijsen, Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao are all ahead of him in the pecking order, so regular action is expected to be difficult to acquire for the 22-year-old this term.

Real Madrid ‘rule out’ Asencio departure

However, according to Fichajes, Real Madrid have closed the door on a departure, with Los Blancos not prepared to let the centre-back leave in the coming weeks.

The report claims that Asencio is still valued by the club’s new head coach Alonso despite his struggles during the 2025 Club World Cup, particularly against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.

Real Madrid will have a busy season which will see them battle for success in La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, and Asencio has allegedly been assured that he will receive minutes.

Asencio proved to be an important player for Los Blancos last term, but in truth, the only way that he will receive regular action during the 2025-26 campaign is if two of Huijsen, Militao and Rudiger pick up injuries.

David Alaba is also still at Bernabeu, but there is speculation surrounding the Austrian’s future.

The experienced defender is one of the highest-earning players at Real Madrid, but injuries have caught up with him, and the 33-year-old’s contract is due to expire next summer.

When are Real Madrid back in action?

Real Madrid currently have a number of players away on international duty, and head coach Alonso will be hoping that there are no injury issues ahead of their return to action.

Los Blancos have made a solid start to the 2025-26 La Liga campaign, winning all three of their matches against Osasuna, Real Oviedo and Mallorca to top the table on nine points.

Alonso’s side will be bidding to make it four wins in a row at the start of the new season when they travel to Real Sociedad on September 13, before opening their Champions League league phase campaign against Marseille three days later.
